Just to wrap up the amazing 2025 wrestling season and to recognize the champions one more time, listed below are the team and individual state champions, multiple-year state champions, and other results and records from the State Tournament.
Before recognizing the champions, in a spectacular State Tournament that had tons of great stories and images, two images that stand out that need to be recognized for showing the outstanding character and sportsmanship of the wrestlers involved. First, the image of Checotah’s Colt Collett and Blackwell’s Madden Edgar fist-bumping on the podium at the conclusion of the tournament, truly stands out. Collett, looking to end his career as a 4X state champion was upset by Edgar in an edge-of-your seat thriller that everyone will remember for years to come. Seeing the two fist-bump tells you all you need to know about these two fine young men.
Another image that stands out was seen on the 6A mat following the end of the 285 lb. finals match. Broken Arrow’s Gunner Wilson just won his third state title with a win over Choctaw junior Kaden Stitt. What stands out, is not a victory celebration, but two outstanding young men praying together after battling toe-to-toe on the mat.
A huge shout out to the photographers who captured those very special moments!
Stillwater’s incomparable LaDarion Lockett also left an everlasting impression, when following winning his 4th state title, Lockett took the time to sign his headgear and toss it into the stands to give some lucky fan a keepsake they will treasure forever.
Stillwater captured the Class 6A title with a powerful State Tournament performance, earning 10 state medals, including seven individual champions and two runner-up finishes to finish 35.5 points ahead of 2nd place Edmond North. Stillwater scored 192 points which is the second highest point total in the Class 6A Record Book.
Chickasha capped an incredible season, winning the Class 5A title by 66 points over 2nd place Elgin. Chickasha had nine state placers, with three individual champions and four runner-up finishes.
Tuttle won their 17th straight Class 4A title by 99 points over runner-up Sallisaw. Tuttle had ten state medalists, including five champions and two runner-up finishes.
Blackwell dominated the Class 3A State Tournament, scoring a Class 3A record 190.5 points and outscoring 2nd place Salina by 94.5 points. Blackwell crowned six champions, with two runners-up and two other state medalists.
Four wrestlers finished dominating careers as 4X state champions as Cascia Hall’s Gerald Harris III, Tuttle’s Beau Hickman, Stillwater’s LaDarion Lockett, and Blackwell’s Kruz Goff all won their 4th titles.
Gerald Harris III was 39-1 this year with a 149-9 career record. In winning his four state titles, Harris went 12-0 with three falls, two tech falls and two major decisions. In his sophomore year, he beat 2X state champion Dylan Bratt (Chickasha) in the semifinals and 2X state champion Braden Potts (Tuttle) in the finals. Harris was named the State Tournament OW his junior year.
In his senior season, Beau Hickman was a perfect 45-0, with 23 falls and 16 tech falls. His career record was 164-12. His four-year record at the State Tournament, shows five falls, four tech falls and three major decisions. Hickman won the state title his sophomore year with a win over eventual 2X state champion Cory Velasquez (Cascia Hall). Hickman was named the OW at this year’s State Tournament
LaDarion Lockett finished his senior year with a 34-0 record with 33 bonus point wins, including 31 falls and tech falls. Lockett’s career record stands at 150-3. Lockett had all falls at the State Tournament in his sophomore and senior seasons and all bonus point wins his junior year. His four trips to the State Tournament show up eight falls, one tech fall and one major decision. He won the state title his freshman year with a finals win over eventual 2X champion and 4X finalist Layton Schneider (Edmond North). Fittingly, Lockett was the OW at this year’s State Tournament.
Kruz Goff had all bonus point wins in going a perfect 30-0 his senior year. Goff had 26 falls, two tech falls and two major decisions and ended his career with a 143-6 record. Goff truly dominated at the State Tournament with 11 falls and one major decision in winning his four state titles. In his freshman year, Goff won by fall in the first round, won by major decision in the semifinals and then reeled off 10 straight falls at the State Tournament. Eight of his 11 falls took place in the 1st period and this year he only wrestled a total of 3:37 to become Blackwell’s first 4X state champion.
Elgin junior Ritson Meyer won his third state title and will look to join the 4X Oklahoma State Champions club next year. Three sophomores won their second Oklahoma state titles to stay on track to be 4X Oklahoma state champions. Catoosa’s Mason Burnham, Sallisaw’s Cason Craft and Sperry’s Jesse Justice all have two titles under their belt. Burnham has a 64-4, two-year record and was 30-0 this year, with 27 bonus point wins, including 20 falls. Craft is a perfect 74-0 over two seasons with 73 bonus point wins, including 50 falls. Justice, 35-2 on the year has a two-year record of 73-8.
Three freshmen took the first step in becoming 4X champions by winning titles this year. Stillwater’s Jaedan Adams, Chickasha’s Cash Bratt and Coweta’s Aiden Jalajel all won titles at the State Tournament.
All state titles are special and hard to accomplish, but a few highlights from the State Tournament include:
- Most consider the Class 3A 126 lb. finals the match of the tournament, as Blackwell sophomore Madden Edgar staged a dramatic comeback, scoring late to take a thrilling win over 3X state champion, Colt Collett from Checotah.
- Stillwater’s Ethan Teague winning his third state title to join his dad, Derrick, as a 3X state champion. The Teague’s are only the second father-son combo to win three titles each. Shane Roller won four state titles and son Jace was a 3X state champion for Bixby (Shane also has the distinction of being the first 4X champion to have a 4X state champion son or daughter when Jadyn won earlier in the evening).
- Bishop Kelley’s Greyson Zellers capping an undefeated season with a fall in the Class 5A 150 lb. finals over Chickasha 2X state champion and 4x state placer Dylan Bratt.
- Chickasha’s Colby Longanacre winning the Class 5A 138 lb. title with a 4-3 win over Coweta’s 2X state champion Toby Shipman.
- Salina’s Konway Williamson winning the Class 3A 285 lb. title to give the Williamson’s their fifth straight 285. Lb. state title. Johnny Williamson got it started, winning in 2021, before Maverick won three in a row from 2022-2024 and Konway winning it this year in his sophomore season.
- Chickasha’s Cash Bratt winning the Class 5A 106 lb. title to be the fourth straight Chickasha wrestler to win at 106. Older brother Dylan got it started, winning at 106 in 2022, Jarrett Patty won in 2023 and Canaan Brummett winning in 2024.
- Tuttle freshman state runner-up Kylan Ooton advanced to the finals with an 8-0 semifinal win over 2X state champion and 3X finalist, Cory Velasquez from Cascia Hall.
- Bridge Creek state runner-up Zarion Craft advanced to the finals with a 9-6 semifinal win over 2X state champion and 3X placer, Miles Velasquez from Cascia Hall.
