#21 Oklahoma (2-2) vs Kent State (2-2)
Oklahoma makes their return to competition here for the first time in over a month after a rough Bedlam dual. This will be their second dual of the day since Lock Haven replaced Penn. Kent State was active early in the season but has also been inactive for the past month. They have no ranked wrestlers at this time but a lot of tough, fringe qualifier type guys. The biggest trend to keep an eye on for OU is going to be who ends up going at 141/149, as it strongly affects the team’s overall strength.
125lbs: #23 Joey Prata (6-2) vs Jake Ferri (14-5)
Ferri is one of Kent State’s more accomplished wrestlers after placing 3rd at the MAC’s and qualifying for NCAA’s last year. This will be a good test for Prata, as he is still looking for a signature win this season. Both wrestlers tend to have closer matches, so this could be a nail biter. I think Prata has shown more skill historically and has the defense to slow down Ferri’s offense and score off of it. Prata should also be able to put on a strong ride which he will likely need to keep Ferri down.
Prediction: Prata Dec. Ferri 4-3 (OU 3 KENT 0)
