Incredible Comeback Gives OCU’s Destiny Lyng NAIA Title

Oklahoma City University’s Destiny Lyng had one of the more incredible matches in the entire NAIA National Tournament this weekend.

In the finals vs. Camplesville’s Emma Walker, Lyng was down by five with just 45 seconds remaining. She got one takedown there, then another with only 31 seconds remaining. With only ten seconds left she got a pushout point to tie things up at 5-5 and give her the lead on criteria. She held on for the last few seconds to win her first National Title.

Lyng dominated the rest of the tournament, winning all of her other matches by fall or superiority. She was the loan All American for the Stars. They finished 18th as a team.
