OU sent eleven guys to the U23 World Team trials in Lincoln this weekend and walked away with one champ and two All-Americans.
Demas was nearly untouchable in his route to the 65 KG title. He outscored opponents 73-10 including two 10-0 techs in the best of three finals with Lawrence Saenz.
This will be Demas’ second freestyle World Team and fifth overall World Team. He will now have the opportunity to represent the United States at the U23 World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia this November.
Ten other OU wrestlers competed here with Jake Woodley finishing as the only other All-American. Woodley finished sixth at 92 KG.
