6A Rankings Update

And we’re off! We’ve waited all year for wrestling season to get here and we’ve arrived at the first set of rankings – this one featuring 6A, the big boys.

Have you ever watched a marathon or cross country race where that lone runner sprints at the start? Well, that’s Stillwater, except for the fact that they are going to sprint this entire marathon.

With the additions to the Ferrari brothers at 152 and 160, the Pioneers also added 3x state champion from Missouri, Teague Travis. Teague wrestled at Father Tolton High School in Columbia, Missouri, the same high school as Jaydin Eierman (Current Iowa Hawkeye). Teague also trains with Sammie Henson during the off-season and is an Oklahoma State commit.

Throw in freshman, Sam Smith, who just knocked off OU commit Christian Forbes 9-7 as well as Northwestern commit, Carter Young, you got yourself a nationally ranked team alone.

Well, the Pioneers have 12 wrestlers ranked in the first set of rankings.

Let’s take a quick look at the top 5 teams:

  1. Stillwater
  2. Mustang
  3. Broken Arrow
  4. Choctaw
  5. Edmond North
