Coaches,
Here's the list of interested teams so far. I hope you will add your team to this and we all grow. Plenty of mat time and not too grand a price. Remember, this also helps WRHS high school's seasonal expenses. Plenty of room, t-shirts, and a camp from Thom Ortiz.

WRock WRestling-Window Rock HS
Ganado HS
Monument Valley HS AZ
Bradshaw Mt
Newcomb NM and Wingate NM (combining into one team)
Gallup NM
Techfall WC (Houston and El Paso TX)
Atchison County HS, Kansas
Granite Hills HS, CA
Royal HS, Simi Valley CA
Cedar Park, TX
Frontier High School, CA
Porterville CA
Valencia HS CA
There are at least two more teams but I haven't got thier locale, although one is from CO.

If you have any questions, concerns, ideas, anything....communicate with me and I will get back to you.

The 4th VMI was a great success!! 27 teams competed in our arena (I gotta call it what it is) and we saw some great matches. The Blue Devils from Tucson Sunnyside shook things up and took the tournament, followed by Camp Verde, Page, Ironwood, Los Alamos NM, Round Valley, Mingus and Chinle (for the top eight).
We're not going to stop there. The WRock is inviting 35 teams for the 5th VMI. That's going to equal ten duals for EVERY team. TEN!! Do you hear me?! Ten matches and our fees will stay the same or my name isn't Coach Hillis. Plenty of mat time. So far there are teams from Las Vegas NV to Moriarty NM that competed. All three of our OutStanding Wrestlers were 2018 state champs with a combined record of 175-0 for this season alone! (Whitewater-Page, Bravo-Young -SS and Henderson-Blue Ridge).
So if you want a piece of this action and immerse your team in some great mat mayhem, contact me, Coach Marc Hillis @ [email protected] for a flyer. The Marines will test your wrestlers' pull-up strength, Bob P. from the valley makes some great shirts and you can get away from the norm.
 Our operators are standing by.....
(Ok, they're not really standing by. It's just me. I know I sound like a used car salesman or that Robocop "I'd-buy-that-for-a-dollar" guy... I just really would like your team to be part of this). Your teams make our tournament what it is.

The ASU Sun Devils and coach Zeke Jones will host a Team camp and Technique camp in Tempe, AZ starting the following day.  So for teams making the long trip, here's another reason to come to AZ.

Our goal at Window Rock High was to build a wrestling tournament to bring together competitive teams together from an area we can draw from both AZ and NM.  We have the space to host a grand tournament.  We've done well in that and we get a little larger every year.  In our first two years, we went from 14 to 16 teams.  We're now sitting on 19 confirmed teams and and looking to have 28 schools come together for our 3rd annual event.  We have other teams checking to see if they can come from even further out the way as well.  In addition to our regular season wrestling and from the summer, we've also had teams from UT, CO and TX compete with us as well.  Former AZ State University coach Thom Ortiz has been our clinician this past summer too.
We also recognize our veterans, from this community as well as from visiting teams.  We thank teams who have stuck with us, and welcome all new comers to our home, the Bee' holdzil (Stronghold) Fighting Scouts events center.
Last year, 5 state champions, 13 state placers and one All-American have graced our mats with their presence. This year, we welcome the new teams from Pecos, Moriarty, and Gallup NM as well as Mohave from across the state.
Is 19 teams enough to have a successful tournament?  Yes.  Do we want more teams?  Yes?
We offer a friendly atmosphere, the largest and newest of athletic venues, and a unique experience in a rural area of the Navajo Nation.

See our venue at:
